Racehorse Spelling

We pride ourselves on our Racehorse Spelling service. We firmly believe that spelling isn’t just about throwing them in a paddock with some hay or poor-quality feed or pasture.  We focus on gut health, muscle repair, rebuilding and conditioning.  We try to keep heard sizes smaller and group according to a range of factors including age and sex to maximize mental and physical health and give each horse the best chance at returning to work to produce their absolute best at the track.

We are able to offer comprehensive ulcer treatment while spelling as well as short term to long term spelling options. Rugging or overnight stabling is also available.

Weanling Education

Our Weanling education is done in 3 to 4 week long stages. This includes rugging, use of walker, treadmill, weighing, float loading, hosing, and farrier. We break up their learning, which keeps their mind fresh and teaches them independence, respect and confidence.

Yearling preparation for sales

Our yearlings are in stables for work during the day and turned out overnight and weekends. They work 5 days a week, are groomed daily, fed a low starch, high fat diet to help develop muscle and structure but protect growing joints. Our yearlings are professional and turned out to a high standard for sale.

Broodmare and Foal Management

We have a limited number of positions available for broodmare and foal management. If your mare has had pregnancy issues in the past we are able to monitor her with regular veterinary consultations and daily medications as well as foal management and handling through to weaning and yearling sales.

Rehabilitation and Injury Recovery

We are able to offer early rehabilitation specialised to your horses’ needs and veterinary advice.  With our large stables and hospital yards, we are able to offer injury recovery in stages from box rest through to paddock turn out under veterinary advice.
